Gravekeeper Idle
“He kept the yard, so the yard would keep him.”
Playable now
A one-person game studio that works the night shift. The day job ends, the house goes quiet, and the games get made — small, strange, hand-built things for the phone in your pocket.
Now Digging
Witchhold
The town, the witch, the wall. Still being dug.
First stop
The finished stones, open to visitors. Step up and play.
“He kept the yard, so the yard would keep him.”
Playable now“All its gold was make-believe. The fifteen minutes were real.”
Playable nowFurther down the path
Stones on the bench, and stones at rest in the vault.
“Still being dug.”
In development“It went down so the others would not have to. It is resting, not buried.”
In the vault“It is still standing its turn.”
In developmentBy the gatehouse
The shift log, kept by the keeper, after dark.
Nov 5, 2026 — after dark
The studio claimed its ground: loneshiftsoftworks.com is ours, registered and locked, the address these gates will hang on when they open.
Nov 5, 2026 — after dark
Gravekeeper Idle was finished. The last of the testing tools came out of her, the three yards were walked one final time, and the keeper declared her done.
Nov 5, 2026 — after dark
A new plot was staked: Witchhold broke ground — a falling town, a witch, and a wall that gets judged nightly. First preview dug the same day.
Oct 2026 — the first nights
The studio was founded in the small hours and named for them. The mark was settled: silver on black, horns up, an hourglass for a seal.
The end of the path
One card, left at the gatehouse for whoever knocks.
One keeper. Works nights.
Digs, builds, keeps. The games are made between the day job and dawn.
Lone Shift Softworks is exactly what the name says: one developer, working the shift nobody else is working. There is a day job — there has to be — and then there is the hour after it, most nights, when the house is quiet and the real work gets done. Every game on this site was built in those hours, a little at a time, the way a graveyard fills.
The name is the schedule. The lone shift is the one you work alone, in the dark, because the work matters to you and nobody is paying you to care. That is not a complaint. Work made that way gets made honestly.
What gets made here: games for the phone in your pocket, playable in a browser with nothing to install. Free to play — the whole game, not a demonstration of one. Small in scope on purpose, finished on purpose, and built to be carried: one thumb, short sessions, progress that waits patiently on your own device. The studio would rather make a strange game well than a familiar game adequately.
Bug reports, kind words, grave disturbances — all read, all answered by the same pair of hands that built the games, usually within a night or two. For a bug, a screenshot and your phone model fix more than any form ever built. Write to the address on the card above.
Privacy, nailed to the gate
The games keep their saves on your device and nowhere else. No accounts, no trackers, nothing sold. Read the policy.
